Duck- a- Roo Studio

The grand opening of Duck-a-Roo Studio!  What is Duck-a-Roo you ask?  We are a small art space located at EBMY Farm that will have classes during the spring, summer, and fall.  Each class will accommodate up to 7 participants and will focus on the following mediums: Hand-built pottery with some classes having a specific topics and others being open to your own creativity, egg and gourd painting, and workshops on building a beautiful flower arrangement.

The schedule for 2024 classes is now available.  Pottery and gourd classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1pm – 3:30pm and 6pm – 8:30pm and will require multiple sessions.  Egg painting classes will be from 1pm to 4pm and will be a single session. Register for classes by email (ebmyfarm@gmail.com) or call 269-409-1675.  Classes must have at least 4 participants to run and be paid in full before class starts.  Registration for classes will close two week prior to the start of the class.  If the class is cancelled, we will work to move you to another class or give you a refund.

Ceramics class students will need to bring your own tools.  There will be some tools available to use but not enough for everyone.  Pottery tools can be purchased at most hobby stores or online (Amazon).  There are many sizes of kits, but basic tools will be all you need.  All potters will definitely need to bring a rolling pin since all projects will have hand-building.  Other items to consider for your pottery toolkits could be items that have texture or interesting impressions, cookie cutters for shapes, or maybe a rolling pin with an imprinted design.  For decorative bowl classes, each student will need to bring a bowl to use as a mold.  This could be a mixing bowl in the size you want or even a bird bath to give your clay something to be molded against.

Gourd classes will be a mix ranging from making a birdfeeder, purses, or using paper clay to make decorative pieces.  All gourds will be cleaned, drilled, and ready so no extra supplies will be needed to complete projects.

Egg painting classes will include a goose egg and a wood stand to display your egg. Each Student will have access to a wood stand to hold your egg while painting. All paints and brushes will be supplied.

Another workshop available this summer will be floral centerpieces. This class will take place near the u-pick flower garden on the south side of Erie Rd and across the street from the studio.  There will be a demonstration on how to create a floral center piece.  Then participants will be given a vintage Pyrex casserole dish to create their design as well as floral foam and tape.  There will be ample time in the flower garden to select your favorite flowers and create your own design. You find the date and time of these workshop in the U-Pick section.
